Watercolour - Unfinished failure

Hello again

Just two more pictures to post. I love watercolour but I have a lot to learn, any half decent ones I have given away and not kept a record of them I just have a few practice pieces that might end up in the recycling pile. This one is more of a sketch for a bigger piece. Yet again it's one of my grandchildren and, as we say in Lancashire, she had a real cob on. One of her friends had snatched something from her and the scowl was glorious, what you can't see from this sketch is that she is in a Disney princess ball gown, complete with tiara, which will all be in the final picture if I ever get down to it. It still makes me smile though xx

  1. That's lovely Kathryn, I love the blue/green backgrounds and the whisky hair, you ve really caught the likeness including the 'cob'! Keep going with that there is a lot of talent there.

    1. Thanks again Hilary, I am fairly confident with pencils and pastels but I love watercolor. I am teaching myself through trial and error as I can't afford the fees for a college class. I used masking fluid for the wisps but it was too thick, I have just found a product called Pebeo gum which washes out of your brush but even better you can thin it down and it goes through the fine applicator I have for glue. Sorry Hilary, I could go on for ages about all the mistakes I make. Thanks very much for the encouragement xx
